The school

Canadian School of Florence is a K-12 school with students from 3 to 18. The Preschool (Pre-K to K) and Elementary (Grades 1-3) campus is in San Domenico, Fiesole. The Upper Elementary (Grades 4 & 5) and Middle School campus (Grades 6-8) is also located in a nearby building. The Senior School (Grades 9-12) is in Florence, in beautiful historical building, less than 2 km away from the Junior school.

The Elementary school experiential learning programme is taught in English, based on the Canada (Ontario) curriculum with preparation, in Italian, for the Italian national exams as a “paritaria” school. Our students work towards gaining the Ontario Secondary School Diploma which is recognised by universities worldwide.

The Ontario curriculum combines the best of Canadian and International educational practices into proven academic programs aimed at developing students' independent learning, collaboration, communication, and leadership skills. Through this integrated approach, we strive to develop well-rounded global citizens who are prepared for, and can adapt to, an ever-changing world. We continually develop life skills including respect, responsibility, perseverance, collaboration, empathy, and integrity. This approach encourages students to reach their full potential.

As an international school located in Italy, we embrace and celebrate our diverse cultural background while creating an environment in which students can learn from one another and accept each other’s differences. Our locations in Florence and Fiesole provide a stimulating and welcoming environment in which to work and a beautiful place to live.

Outdoor Learning

We believe all children deserve to learn outside the classroom, so we regularly take advantage of the green areas surrounding us. Outdoor learning allows students to develop their personal skills, their social skills and their practical skills and gives.
