Canadian School of Florence is a private international school based in Florence, Tuscany. Offering a complete educational path, which starts at Kindergarten (age 3) and ends with graduation from our Senior School (age 18). 

Canadian School of Florence is an international school combining the best of Canadian, Italian,and international educational standards. The School follows the Canadian Ontario Curriculum and hosts a unique mix of international students and local Italian students. Small class size strengthens the personal approach to education, allowing each student to develop their sense of excellence, trust, integrity, fairness, and compassion.

The School provides an inclusive learning environment, with teachers and support staff who engage with students on both academic and emotional levels. Teachers provide personalized teaching and individual care together with empathetic engagement, and hands-on experiential teaching that enables curiosity, creativity, and innovative thinking. Students enjoy engaging field trips, excursions, and extra-curricular activities to enhance what is taught in class.

The School has Three Campuses:

The Kindergarten/Lower Primary School (Kindergarten Ages 3-5, Lower Primary Grades 1-3) campus is located in Fiesole, less than 2km from the Florence campus. Its experiential learning program is based on the best curriculum from Canada (Ontario), with preparation, in Italian, for the Italian programme (scuola paritaria), and the use of the Reggio Emilia philosophy and Jolly Phonics in the Preschool. The Junior School opened its doors in September 2021.

The Upper Primary/Middle School (Upper Primary Grades 4-5, Middle Grades 6-8) is located in a beautiful, private villa in the main square of San Domenico, Fiesole only 200 meters from the Kinder/Lower Primary campus. It boasts a large outdoor garden and a brand-new sports pitch. The Canadian Ontario curriculum here focuses on STEM subjects, experiential learning opportunities,and group work with preparation, in Italian, for the Italian programme (scuola paritaria). The Middle School program was established in September 2022.

The Senior School (Grades 9-12) is hosted in a historical building in Florence, close to attractions and public transportation, and currently hosts more than 130 students. Our Secondary School program leads to the OSSD, preparing them for admission to prestigious universities all over the world.
